ATV, UTV & Lawn Tires in New York, NY

New York Tire Shop mounts, balances, and repairs low-pressure ATV, UTV, and lawn-equipment tires at 53-46 Van Dam St in Long Island City — work most passenger-car shops turn away because the rims, bead seat, and air pressures don't match standard car equipment. Bring the wheel off the machine or the whole unit; both are handled on-site.

Low-pressure ATV and UTV tires seat and balance differently than a passenger tire — the bead breaks free at a fraction of the pressure, and get it wrong and you either tear the bead or leave a leak that never fully seals. That's the reason most general tire counters wave this category off instead of taking it on. New York Tire Shop, at 53-46 Van Dam St in Long Island City, keeps the low-pressure equipment on hand for ATVs, UTVs, and ride-on mowers, along with both the tube and tubeless setups those machines use.

Most of what comes through this category is landscaping and property-maintenance equipment — mower and utility-cart tires that take a beating from curbs, gravel, and construction debris — plus the occasional trailered ATV or UTV. The shop works across 20 service areas from the Long Island City location, so a fair amount of that equipment has already traveled before it gets here.

What counts as an ATV, UTV, or lawn tire here?

ATV and UTV tires, ride-on and zero-turn mower tires, garden-tractor tires, and utility-cart tires — anything built around a low-pressure, off-road tread that a standard car tire machine isn't set up to grip and seat correctly.

  • ATV and UTV tires, tube or tubeless
  • Ride-on and zero-turn mower tires
  • Garden-tractor and utility-cart tires
  • Wheelbarrow and small-trailer tires on request

Do you need to bring the whole machine, or just the wheel?

Either works. Pulling the wheel off yourself is usually faster and lets the machine keep running on a spare while the tire's out. If the hub or lug pattern is proprietary to the machine, bring the whole unit — it gets pulled and remounted in the bay rather than worked on in a parking lot.

Tube or tubeless — does it change the repair?

It changes what's possible. A tubeless low-pressure tire can often be plugged and reseated the same way a car tire is. A tubed tire with a puncture usually means pulling the tire off the rim to get at the tube directly, which takes longer and is worth knowing before dropping it off expecting a quick turnaround.

Can you balance a UTV tire the same way as a car tire?

Not on the same settings — UTV wheels are lighter and run at much lower pressure, so the balance point and weight placement differ from a car wheel. These run on the low-pressure equipment kept for off-road and lawn tires, not the standard passenger setup.

Do you stock ATV and UTV tire sizes?

Common ATV, UTV, and mower sizes are kept on the shelf; less common ones are special-order. Call (862) 212-0509 with the size stamped on the sidewall and it can usually be confirmed on the same call.

Can a landscaping crew bring in several mower tires at once?

Yes — multiple units in one visit is normal for property-maintenance accounts. Drop the wheels or the trailer and they get worked through in one trip instead of one appointment per tire.
